Our Faculty's Nursing Department started its education and training in the 1998-1999 academic year within the Burdur School of Health. Since 2016, it has been continuing its education and training within the Faculty of Health Sciences.
Our aim is to train nurses who base their knowledge on national and international level science and help protect and improve the health of individuals, families, and society in the light of technological developments, identify the needs of sick individuals, plan, implement and evaluate their care in accordance with professional standards and ethical codes, and effectively use their roles in education, research, management, leadership, and consultancy as a member of the health team. In the nursing undergraduate program, there are courses aimed at nursing practice, such as basic medical sciences, science and social sciences, and professional sciences in nursing. In applied nursing courses, students first develop their skills on models in the technical laboratory; then they carry out their practical training under the supervision of teaching staff in real environments such as hospitals, community health, and some public and organizations.
Our graduates can work as nurses in private hospitals or state hospitals. They also have the opportunity to work in family health centers, hemodialysis centers, rehabilitation centers, educational institutions as School Health Nursing, in Industry and Factories as Worker Health Nursing, in institutions providing Elderly Care and Home Care Services, and in every field where there are humans.
